Girls Tennis

The Judge girls tennis team is off to a swinging
start this season with a big win this week over
Uintah. Lead by Senior Captain Megan Mancini the
bulldogs won all their matches against Uintah except
for one doubles JV match. Jaqi Pok and Alexis Naylor
smashed, sliced and swung their way to victory in
their #2 Doubles Varsity match. I talked to Alexis
Naylor and she said, "I think we have a good chance to
do really well this year, and I'm having a lot of
fun." The girls will take on the Miners of Park City
September 4th at Park City. Let's hope they keep on
rolling.

X-Country quick off the starting line

The JM Cross Country team has been training all summer and looks readier then ever to take state with solid girls' and boys' teams. Both teams performed well at their first meet this past Saturday in American Fork. The main event of the meet was a relay with a boys' varsity relay team consisting of Parker Mildenhall, Max Lamb, Frank Barrows, Luke Puskedra, and John Foye and a girls team consisting of Lindsay Baker, Elli McMillan, Emma Welch, Lizzie Hindert and Hailey Knettles. The boys finished 4th in the meet and first among the 3A teams. The girls finished 9th in the meet and second among the 3A teams. Says head coach Mattie Reed, "What a great way to start our season!"

Judge Swimming Summer Training

The Judge swim teams got off to an early start this year. The newly formed
Basileus Race Team began practicing in May after only three months of rest
after the girl's decisive win at State. The team practiced hard this summer
in order to stay in shape for the upcoming season. This dedicated group of
swimmers is now "fixed on six" state championships and are showing their
focus and drive by practicing tirelessly nine months out of the year. The
team has received a new Vasa Trainer, an exercise machine that provides
resistance and strength training, as well as polishing swimming technique.

Coach Matt Finnigan says of the upcoming season, "Both our teams look very
promising!"

Dryland training is M-W-F 3-4 in the Cardio Room above the gym. The high
school swimming season begins September 17.

Golf Season Begins

The Golf team is off to a strong start behind the leadership of Andrew
Etzel, Craig Chiesa, and Johnny Murphy. The team is also getting some
contributions from freshman Rob Puskedra and sophomore Michael
Hanover. The team tied for third place in close competition at their
first tournament and they play again at Park City on Thursday the
30.

Interact Club

Still looking for new members! Also, our domestic project is still in debate as to where to be done, so if you have any ideas, stop by our next meeting. It will be held on Thursday, September 13 in Dr. Quall's room on the fourth floor. Come give us a visit and find out more about the Interact Club!
